2020 Is Your YEAR!

A Proven Formula for Creating the Best Year of Your Life by Jennifer Kahtz

Have you ever felt that as much as your brain and conscious mind want something, there’s a silent force holding you back?

Is your external reality reflecting the opposite of what you truly want?

Why does this happen? How do you break the cycle for 2020?

You’ll want to keep reading if:

  • You get stuck on staying consistent and true to habits and goals.

  • You want to rewire your mindset so creating your life gets easier.

  • You want to foster an inner motivation that causes you to enjoy taking action instead of procrastinating.

  • You want to create a psychologically and financially free life doing what you love!

In this article, we’re going to provide some explanations, solutions and insights with the intention of helping you break through this barrier for 2020!

Personally, after a rock bottom 2019 with multiple crashes, a bounce-back has been happening for me in the last few months. I’ve become driven to be a better version of myself and want to share some insights I’ve been learning recently that have helped.

Many different teachers teach these insights and this type of brain fuel is good to read consistently. Today’s are based on a book I was turned on to called “The Strangest Secret” by Earl Nightingale.

He states clearly that it’s true that most who want to be successful never achieve the level of wealth and success they truly desire.

“Why?” I asked myself.

Earl Nightingale shares his answer. He alludes to the idea that the reason we don’t succeed is because we conform to societal norms.

Nightingale sites Rollo May, a renowned psychologist who wrote “Man’s Search for Himself,” who said that the opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice, it is conformity.

When he says “conformity,” he means people who act like everyone else without knowing why or where they are going in life.

So why do we conform?

We often don’t know. He says people believe their lives are shaped by circumstances, by things that happen to us from outer forces.

Ah. We search for happiness from an outside circumstance without a solid center of knowing what we want.

Nightingale gives an example. He asked 20 people the question, “Why do you work? Why do you get up in the morning?” Nineteen out of the 20 he questioned had no idea. The standard answer was, “Everyone else does it. I do it to make money.” They had no other goal or desire.

Well, that’s depressing.

How do we fix this and what is the secret mindset to success?

Nightingale said that true success is the progressive realization of a worthy idea.

What does that mean?

To Nightingale, a successful person can be defined as someone who deliberately sets out to accomplish a goal, then works to achieve it. According to him, only one out of every 20 people do that.

Basically, he’s saying that most people don’t have a deliberate purpose to their lives and that’s why they stay stuck.

My thought is...awareness is the first step. Now that we have this realization, how can we change it?

His answer is the key to creating your 2020. In the following, we’ll share multiple keys that, when internalized, can transform your life.

Create goals.

The first key is creating goals and working on them every day until you succeed.

A ship on a voyage that is mapped out and planned is going to get to the destination. A ship without a plan, a destination, or guidance doesn’t go anywhere.

Some of us have goals and some of us don’t. Those who have goals and work towards them every day succeed because they know where they are going. It’s that simple.

Your thoughts are your reality.

Nightingale states that if we think positively, we’ll get positive results and if we think negatively, we’ll get negative results.

My realization is that circumstances are an effect of the cause of our thoughts. If we want to change our circumstances, we should think about what we want, not what our current reality is.

That is the opposite of what the world teaches us and how it functions. Our conditioning focuses on reality and Earl is saying change your reality by dreaming. Dreaming is the key. How many times did we get shut down for dreaming as children? WOW!

He goes on to suggest that as you work, picture yourself as if you have already achieved your goal and continue to take action toward accomplishing it. Most of us focus on the circumstances of the current reality which reinforces what we create.

We have to envision the reality we want, even when it looks bleak. We need to use our subconscious mind to turn our reality around.

You can learn more about these concepts from most personal development books including “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, “You Can if You Think You Can” by Norman Vincent Peale, and “Power Thoughts” by Louise Hay.

In a nutshell, Nightingale teaches 5 crucial things that can impact your 2020. Most of the message stems from the need to control our thinking. Everytime a worry comes into your brain, replace it quickly with a positive thought or feeling to transmute it. Thoughts are things and the energy of a thought is real. Life responds to our thoughts and feelings and it’s ok to dream.

The 5 tips he expresses the most in “The Strangest Secret” are:

  1. You will become what you think about. We literally become what we think about. To control our thoughts is to control our reality. Know that as we sow, so shall we shall reap.

  2. Let your mind begin to imagine your dream life. (Its ok! We can dream!) Cut all tethers of the mind and permit your mind to soar as it was divinely meant to do. Know your limitations are self imposed and the opportunities available to you are enormous beyond your belief.

  3. Courage! Concentrate on your goal every day. Use courage to force yourself to think positively on your own problem. Set a definite goal. Let your imagination speculate solutions from many different angles. Refuse to believe in any limitations.

  4. Save at least 10% of every dollar you earn.

  5. Take action because ideas are worthless unless you act on them. Stop thinking about what you fear. Give of yourself more than you’ve given to others. The moment you decide on a goal, you’re more successful. Don’t be consumed with the how, because once you begin to start seeing the vision, the answers will come from a power greater than your conscious mind. All you need is a purpose and faith. Ask and you shall be given. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will open.

Action Homework for Making This a Reality

Do a 30 day manifest test!

Write on a card what it is you want.

Examples:

More money.

Beautiful home.

Success in a job.

A more harmonious family.

Look at it everyday. Remember, you become what you think about.

Think positively for 30 days. For 30 days be completely giving without expecting anything in return. And if you reach your goal, in 30 days you’ll wonder and marvel at what you found.

Act as though it’s impossible to fail.

Don’t start your 30 day test until you make up your mind to stick with it. If you should fail, start over and renew your 30 days. Gradually, your new habits will form. Don’t forget the card. On one side of the card write your goal and on the other side write, “Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will open.”

Know all you have to do is hold your goal before you.

No one wants to be mediocre. No one wants to be filled with frustration or worry or resistance that your life isn’t what you want it to be. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Nightingale states money is a yardstick for measuring the action you take and the value and service you bring.

Let’s do this 30 day manifest test together! If you'd like to join us for free Zoom meetings where we can support each other in manifesting a better year, please send an email to info@emotivepull.com.

Here's to your BEST. YEAR. EVER!!
